Concrete repair

Fix damage before it becomes a bigger job.

Cracks, uneven sections and failing concrete can create trip hazards and invite more water damage. Call to discuss whether repair or replacement makes sense.

Call (574) 527-0266

Repair may be enough

  • One isolated crack that isn't spreading
  • Surface wear or light scaling on an otherwise solid slab
  • A single settled section, with the rest of the slab sound
  • Damage caught early, before water gets under the slab

Replacement usually makes more sense

  • Cracks running across multiple panels
  • Widespread settling, or a base failing underneath
  • Extensive spalling — the surface flaking off in many places
  • Drainage running the wrong way, toward the house

Not sure which list your concrete is on? An on-site look settles it — that's what the free estimate is for.

Featured service

Driveways, in depth.

The driveway is the workhorse surface — used every day, in every Indiana season. Three ways the job usually goes:

New installation

Starting fresh — layout, excavation, compacted base and drainage are planned from day one, before any concrete shows up.

Replacement

The old slab is torn out and hauled away, and base problems get fixed instead of poured over — that's usually why the old one failed.

Extension & widening

More parking, a wider approach or a turnaround area, tied into your existing surface.

What a proper driveway build includes

Ask us about each of these on your estimate — together they're the difference between a slab that lasts and one that doesn't:

  • Slab thickness — typically about 4 inches for everyday cars, more where heavy vehicles turn.
  • Reinforcement — rebar or fiber mesh to help the slab manage cracking.
  • Control joints — planned spacing so cracks follow the joints instead of crossing the slab.
  • Drainage slope — pitched so water runs away from the house and garage.
  • Compacted base — a gravel base, compacted, so the slab sits on solid ground.
  • Sealer — applied after curing to help protect against water, salt and stains.

Stamped & decorative

Pick the finish that fits the space.

Same strong concrete, very different looks. These swatches are illustrative — real samples come out at your estimate.

Stamped

Patterns pressed into the surface with color. Popular patterns include ashlar slate, cobblestone, herringbone brick, wood plank and fieldstone.

Best for: patios, walkways & entryways

Pricing

What does concrete cost?

The honest answer: it depends on the job — anyone who quotes a firm price without seeing your site is guessing. Here's what actually moves the number, and how to size up your project before you call.

Project size

Square footage drives how much concrete, base material and labor the job takes. Bigger isn't just longer — it's more of everything.

Tear-out & haul-off

Replacing an old slab means breaking it out and hauling it away. Brand-new work on open ground skips that step entirely.

Site conditions & access

Slope, drainage problems and tight access — can a truck reach the pour? — all change how much prep work the job needs.

Base & reinforcement

The gravel base depth and the reinforcement the slab needs. It's the part you can't see once it's poured — and it matters most.

Finish

A broom finish is the standard. Stamped patterns, color and extra detail add steps, materials and finishing time.

Extras

Steps, borders, drainage fixes and thicker edges for heavy vehicles each add to the scope — and to the price.

Measure your project in two minutes

  1. Measure the length and width of the area in feet. For L-shaped spaces, split it into rectangles and measure each one.
  2. Multiply length × width to get square feet. Add the rectangles together for irregular shapes.
  3. Compare with typical sizes: a standard two-car driveway is typically about 400–700 sq ft, and a modest patio often runs 200–400 sq ft. (Typical sizes, for orientation only.)
  4. Send the numbers with your estimate request — they help us give a tighter range before the site visit.

Try the math

Enter your measurements to get the size of your project. This is measuring math only — no prices — your written estimate carries the real numbers.

Enter a length and width to see your square footage.

No surprises

What's included in every pour.

Your free written estimate spells the job out line by line, so you can compare bids on the work itself — not just the bottom line. A complete pour covers:

  • Excavation & grading
  • Compacted gravel base
  • Tear-out & haul-away, where needed
  • Forms set for grade & drainage
  • Reinforcement placed before the pour
  • Pour & finish in your chosen style
  • Control joints cut at the right spacing
  • Sealer once the concrete has cured
  • Full cleanup of the work area

If a line doesn't apply to your project, your estimate should say so — that's the point of getting it in writing.

Talk through your project.

The first step is a five-minute call — the written estimate follows from there.

A straightforward path from idea to finished surface.

Every project has its own site conditions, but the fundamentals stay simple.

Site visit & written estimate

We look at the site, talk through size, finish and drainage, and put the numbers in writing — free.

Tear-out & haul-off

Old concrete, where it exists, is broken out and hauled away so the new slab starts clean.

Excavate, grade & compact base

The area is dug to depth, graded for drainage and built up with a compacted gravel base.

Forms & reinforcement

Forms set the shape and slope; reinforcement is placed to help the slab handle loads and ground movement.

Pour & finish

Concrete is placed, leveled and finished in the style you chose — broom, smooth, stamped or colored.

Cut joints & cure

Control joints are cut as the slab sets, so cracking follows the joints instead of the surface — then the cure begins.

Seal & walkthrough

Sealer goes on once the concrete has cured, and the finished job gets a final walkthrough.

When can I use it?

24–48 hrsWalk on it — typical
~7 daysPatio furniture — typical
~7 daysDrive a vehicle on it — typical
28 daysFull cure — typical

These are typical timelines for a standard pour — weather and mix change them, so follow the crew's instructions for your job. And keep it sealed: resealing roughly every 2–3 years is typical maintenance that helps protect the surface from water, road salt and stains.

Frequently asked questions

What to know before you pour.

Quick answers about estimates, timing, and repairs in the Leesburg area.

Ask about warranty coverage

Your written estimate should state what's covered and for how long. Ask Wiseman — and any contractor who bids your job — about warranty coverage, licensing and insurance before the pour, and get the answers in writing.

Call (574) 527-0266 Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, or use the form at the top of this page to open a prefilled text message to the shop. Share the project address, approximate dimensions, current surface condition, desired finish and any access concerns.

The active work often takes several days, depending on removal, site access, weather, size and finish. After the pour, concrete needs cure time before vehicle traffic. Your estimate should include a project-specific schedule.

Stamped concrete typically costs more than a basic broom finish because it adds color, pattern and finishing labor. See the “What does concrete cost?” section above for everything that moves the price, then call (574) 527-0266 for a written estimate with real numbers for your project.

Sometimes. Surface damage and certain cracks may be repairable; widespread settlement, major movement or badly deteriorated slabs may point to replacement. An on-site look is the best way to compare the options.

Yes. Wiseman Concrete LLC provides both residential and commercial concrete services, including driveways, patios, sidewalks, foundations, decorative concrete, flatwork and repair.

Light foot traffic may be possible sooner than vehicle traffic, but cure timing varies with the mix, weather and project. Follow the instructions provided for your specific pour rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all timeline.

Northern Indiana winters mean freeze–thaw cycles, snowplows and de-icing products — all harder on decorative finishes than on a plain broom finish. A sealed, well-drained surface handles it best, and the right choice depends on how the surface gets used. Ask us what's right for a driveway versus a patio or walkway when you call for your estimate.

Line-by-line detail: tear-out, excavation, base, reinforcement, forms, finish, control joints, sealer and cleanup — plus what's covered if something goes wrong, and for how long. If a bid is just one number with no breakdown, ask for the breakdown before you compare it to anyone else's.
